30+ Amazing facts on space

Hello Everyone, I am here with another amazing blog. This is going to be a fact based blog. In which you will get to know some of the amazing facts about the space, that would blow your mind. So as you know from the heading it is amazing facts about the space. So let's begin with this amazing topic
.
Let's explore the facts on space
Let's explore the facts on space

The Amazing World of Stars

1. After billions of years some stars die, they turn into diamonds!

2. The fastest stars in The Milky Way, known as hyper-velocity stars, travels at 530 miles every second.

3. The largest known star could be 1800 times larger than our sun.

4. You can see 2500 stars at one time. Next time when someone asks you count the number of stars you can see, then tell him/her that it's 2500.

5. Only 4 million galaxies are visible to our naked eyes.

6. There are more than 100 billion galaxies in the universe, each contains between 10 and 100 billion stars.

7. In the northern hemisphere, you can see milky way and Andromeda.

8. In the southern hemisphere you can see the large and small Magellanic clouds.

9. 10,000 stars are visible to the naked eyes. Don't get confused. In the above that is the number of stars you can see at one time. But this is a number of stars you can see in all total.

10. A solar eclipse -- when the moon is exactly between the Earth and sun -- lasts for seven minutes.

Solar system

11. 609 Hours & 7 minutes is a day on the sun in earth time.

12. The nickname of Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky is the DOG STAR.

Why Sirius has such a name?

Sirius is also well known as the dog star, because it is the chief star in the constellation Canis Major, the BIG DOG. Sirius is behind the sun as seen from the Earth in northern hemisphere summer. In late summer, it appears in the east before sunrise ---- near the sun in our sky.

Galaxy Quest

Galaxy Quest

13. Millions of pieces of space junk spin around the earth at a speed of 15000 miles an hour.

14. Scientists are currently working on a gravity tractor that will be used to keep near-- Earth objects from crossing to our surface.

15. 'LUCY' is the nickname of the largest diamond in our galaxy as a star.

Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The Hubble space telescope has spotted the most distant Galaxy yet. it is so far away that the light from this cluster of stars would have taken 13.4 billion years to reach us.

16. The faint cluster of stars has been named Gn-z11 and is located in the direction of Ursa major constellation.

17. Owing to its distance from the earth, Hubble sees the Galaxy as it was 400 million years after the BIG BANG.

18. 25 times is bi how much Gn-z11 is smaller than the Milky way.

19. Astronauts say finding this Galaxy is an extra ordinary accomplishment for the 25 year old Hubble, the record can only be broken by its successor James Webb telescope that launched in 2018.

20. A team of international scientists has discovered 883 Galaxy s hidden from view until now by the Milky way, Some 250 million light years away from the Earth.

Saturn's secrets

21. Saturn is the least dense planet in the solar system.

22. More than 163 earths would fit into Saturn.

23. The winds on Saturn blow at about 1118 miles an hour ---- 5 times faster than the strongest winds on earth!

24. Saturn would float in water. As it is mainly made up of gases so its density so much less that it can float.

25. Saturn is sometimes called 'the Jewel of the solar system'

Earth.

26. The earth is the only planet in our solar system not to be named after a Greek or Roman deity. The Other 7 planets in our solar system are all named after Roman gods and goddesses. Although only mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were named during ancient times, because they were visible to the naked eye, the Roman method of naming planets was retained after the discovery of Uranus and Neptune.

27. The earth's rotation is gradually slowing: This deceleration is happening almost imperceptibly, at approximately 17 milliseconds per hundred years, although the rate at which it occurs is not perfectly uniform. This has the effect of lengthening our days, but it happens so slowly that it could be as much as 140 million years before the length of a day will have increased to 25 hours.

28.  Earth has a powerful magnetic field: this phenomenon is caused by the nickel-iron core of the planet, coupled with its rapid rotation. This field protects the earth from the effect of solar wind.

Gravity force on Earth

29. The Earth is the densest planet in the solar system: this varies according to the part of the planet; for example, the metallic core is denser than The crust. the average density of the Earth is approximately 5.52  grams per cubic centimetre.

30. Except one moon earth has two co-orbital satellites also.

31. The name of  the two co-orbital satellites are- 3753 Cruithne and 200 AA29. 3753 Cruithne is 5 km across, and sometimes called Earth's second moon.

32. 2002 AA29 is only 60 metres across, and makes a horseshoe orbit around the earth that brings it close to the planet every 95 years.

33. Each winter there are about one septillion ( 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or a trillion trillion) snow crystals that drop from sky.

34.The planet Earth weighs approximately 5,974,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms (nearly 6 septillion kg), that’s roughly the same amount of weight as 54,807,339,449,541,284,403 (approx 55 quintillion) Blue Whales – the heaviest creature on the Earth itself!
